AvtoVAZ has brought the fundamentally new Lada closer to production. How is it equipped?
AvtoVAZ will show several pre-production LADA Azumits in various body colors at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2026) in early June. A correspondent from the RCI News resource photographed a batch of crossovers loaded onto a car transporter in Tolyatti.

According to the source, all the cars sent to St. Petersburg were produced on the first line of AvtoVAZ using the conveyor method, that is, they were assembled right next to the Vesta and Aura – in a full cycle and without bypass technologies. This is evidenced by the even gaps in the body parts and embossed plastic in the interior. Photo Ivan Bakharev / “Auto News of the Day”
Serial production of the LADA Azimut at the plant in Togliatti should start in September, and it will go on sale before the end of this year. In the market, it will compete mainly with Haval Jolion, Geely Coolray, Tenet T4 and Jeland J6. It was previously reported that AvtoVAZ is working on creating a plug-in hybrid based on the LADA Azimut. According to the company’s president, Maxim Sokolov, this will be an all-wheel drive vehicle with a 394 hp (290 kW) power plant, the ability to accelerate to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and a total range of up to 1,100 kilometers.
