The new Sollers S9 frame SUV has been certified and received the OTTS

The Russian company Sollers has completed the certification of the new Sollers S9 frame SUV, the production of which is scheduled to start at the UAZ industrial site in September. The vehicle type approval (VTA), allowing its production and sale in Russia, has already been received.

The document is issued to Sollers subsidiary in Vladivostok — Automobile Industrial Technologies LLC. The model was certified with a two-row and three-row interior for five and seven seats respectively, as well as a petrol and diesel turbo engines with a volume of 2.0 liters, a pair of which will be an eight-speed hydromechanical “automatic”.

The dimensions of the promising SUV also became known from the OTTS. In length and width, it corresponds to the Chinese JAC JS9: 5200 mm and 1965 mm, respectively. In terms of height, the Sollers S9 is 35 mm shorter (1885 mm versus 1920 mm), and in terms of wheelbase, it is 20 mm shorter (3090 mm versus 3110 mm).

As a reminder, at the end of April, the Sollers company announced the completion of the development of the Sollers S9 SUV and the readiness of the model for serial production. It is known that the car will receive a spring rear suspension from the “donor” Sollers ST9 pickup truck and all-wheel drive with several operating modes for different road conditions.

The pre-production version of the Sollers S9 was presented in June. At that time, it was reported that the car was developed with the participation of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University and its technological partner Sollers. University specialists joined in at the final stage and were engaged in the development of the interior, radiator grille, and also in finding the optimal location for the all-round camera.

    In June, by the way, Sollers launched a new press production at the site of the UAZ industrial complex in Ulyanovsk, which will be engaged in the manufacture of body parts for Sollers brand pickups, and in the future – for the Sollers S9 SUV and UAZ vehicles.
