The Volga brand presented the flagship crossover Volga K50 at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). It, along with two other models – the mid-size crossover K40 and the business sedan C50 – will go on sale in June.

As noted in the press service of Volga, it is equipped with a set of modern electronic driver assistants, massage functions and electric adjustment of the driver and front passenger seats with memory settings, electric adjustment of the angle of the backrest of the rear sofa, acoustics with 12 speakers and many other options. In addition, it will already receive a full package of winter options in the basic configuration.

The flagship model inherited its power unit from the Monjaro – under the hood is the same 2.0-liter gasoline turbo engine with a capacity of 238 hp. s., coupled with a classic eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive system.

The car design also uses an adaptive suspension, thanks to which the handling and ride characteristics of the K50 are ideally adapted to changing road conditions.

The production of Volga cars has been carried out since spring at the GAZ Group site in Nizhny Novgorod, where Skoda and Volkswagen cars were produced until 2022. The maximum capacity of the plant is 110,000 cars per year.

The strategic goal of the brand is the gradual formation of its own original model range. At the first stage, it will include three models – the Preface (C50) business sedan, as well as the Atlas and Monjaro crossovers, which entered the Nizhny Novgorod assembly line under the names K40 and K50, respectively.

It was previously reported that the Nizhny Novgorod company “Production of Light Vehicles”, which is engaged in organizing the assembly of cars under the Volga brand, will invest about 60 billion rubles in their localization under a 10-year special investment contract (SPIC) with the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
