Don’t buy these Haval models: they lose up to 1.2 million rubles in value in a couple of years.

Some Haval models are rapidly losing value on the secondary market. According to experts from the financial marketplace “Sravni”, owners of certain cars can lose over 1.2 million rubles within a few years of purchase.

The Haval H5 frame SUV turned out to be the one losing value the fastest. An analysis of 2023-2024 vehicles showed that after just three years of use, the model loses an average of over 1.2 million rubles.

The Haval Dargo crossover came in second place, with its value decreasing by approximately 900,000 rubles. The more compact Haval H3 loses approximately 650,000 rubles in two years. The H7 and H9 models lose around 600,000 rubles each in three years.

At the same time, the brand’s most popular models retain their value noticeably better. Over the same period, the Haval Jolion and M6 have fallen in price by approximately 400,000–430,000 rubles, making them more liquid on the used market.

According to Fyodor Kalabkin, an expert at Sravni, the main price drop occurs in the first year of operation—a car can lose 20 to 30% of its original value. Regular model lineup updates, intense competition with new cars, and buyer concerns about post-warranty service put additional pressure on prices.

At the same time, Haval’s local production in Russia helps maintain the availability of spare parts and service, which partially supports interest in the brand’s cars on the used market.

It’s worth noting that the Haval H5 became noticeably more expensive in the spring of 2026: diesel versions disappeared from the Russian lineup, and the only available Premium trim level for the 2026 model year is priced at approximately 4.2 million rubles. At the same time, analysts at Avto.ru Business note that in terms of the rate of price reduction, Haval is generally at the level of other Chinese automobile brands.
