RG: Chery’s website has stopped working reliably in Europe.

On June 23 of this year, access to the official website of the Chinese automaker Chery in the Russian Federation became impossible. Users attempting to access the resource encountered a connection error. This news quickly spread online, fueling speculation about the impending complete cessation of the brand’s operations in Russia. There was no official confirmation of this information from the company. The expert community commented on the current situation with the brand in 2026, these opinions were published by journalists from Rossiyskaya Gazeta.

Events surrounding Chery’s possible exit from the Russian market are developing rapidly and appear to be negatively impacting the brand’s reputation. In early June of this year, sales of the Tiggo 8 Pro Max and Tiggo 4 crossovers ceased in Russia. It is noteworthy that in the first quarter of 2026, the Chinese automaker managed to sell only 3,200 new vehicles in Russia, which is 87.3% less than the same period last year. For reference, in the first quarter of 2025, the company sold approximately 25.7 thousand vehicles.

Experts are unanimous in their assessment of the gradual reduction of Chery’s presence in the Russian market. Some analysts suggest that the brand may completely leave Russia by summer, with sales volumes set to plummet. One of the indirect signs of such trends is the Tenet brand’s plans to expand its model range. Oleg Moseev, former head of the Russian Highways Association, previously noted: “In 2026, Chery will cease operations in the Russian market. However, cars of other brands within the concern will remain available to Russian consumers.”

Despite the lack of official statements, dealerships will likely retain the ability to service and support customers who own Chery vehicles. A scenario is possible in which Chery will continue its presence in the Russian market, but under other brands. For example, Tenet models are already available on the market, which are actually modifications of the Chery Tiggo crossovers.

Currently, the concern is actively seeking new partners and expanding its presence in European countries. Last year, Chery sales in Europe reached 150 thousand cars.
