Hyundai will release a new crossover on the Bayon platform and the size of the Creta.
Hyundai is preparing to release a new mid-size crossover, which will stand in the same line as the Hyundai Creta. A new model in dense camouflage has already been spotted on the roads of India, reports the local auto portal AutoCar.

The new Hyundai SUV, which is about 4.2 meters long, should go on sale in the third quarter of 2026. It will be built on the same platform as the previously released compact crossover Hyundai Bayon, which is presented in many international markets, including Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, and supplied to Russia through parallel import.

Dense camouflage does not allow a full view of the exterior of the new model, but it is already clear that it will inherit some design elements from other crossovers of the Korean brand. So, its headlights are similar to the current generation Hyundai Venue, and the window line and wheels give a resemblance to the already mentioned Bayon. The interior of the new crossover resembles the interior of the prototype of the sports version N-Line, previously spotted in South Korea.

The new crossover could become the first Hyundai model longer than four meters with an internal combustion engine running on methane (CNG). The base model should be a naturally aspirated petrol engine, and the N-Line version may receive a 1.2-liter four-cylinder turbo engine.

  • The cost and exact technical characteristics of the new platform mate Hyundai Bayon are still unknown. It is expected to be more expensive than the Hyundai Venue, whose prices in the Indian market range from 800,000 to 1.57 million rupees (about 600,000 to 1.18 million rubles at the current exchange rate).

Meanwhile, an inexpensive Hyundai crossover has gone on sale in Russia, which is cheaper than the Tenet and all the “Chinese” cars officially presented on our market. This is the Hyundai Casper, the most compact crossover of the Korean brand.
