Upgraded Engines

The main technical change in the updated Haval F7 is the upgraded turbo engines. In particular, the “junior” 1.5-liter engine, which is now produced at the Russian Haval plant in the Tula region, with the same power of 150 hp, received more torque – it increased from 230 to 270 Nm. This made it possible to reduce the acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h from 10.9 to 9.3 seconds.

The “senior” 2.0-liter turbo engine, which is equipped with all-wheel drive versions of the crossover, like the updated Haval Dargo, has grown in both power and torque – from 192 hp and 320 Nm to 200 hp and 380 Nm, respectively. Due to this, the acceleration time to “hundreds” has decreased from 9.4 to 8.7 seconds.

Both modernized engines comply with the Euro 6 environmental class and are combined with a 7-speed robotic gearbox with a wet dual clutch. The Haval F7 can still be equipped with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. In the second case, it is an automatically connected all-wheel drive system (Torque-On-Demand) with an electro-hydraulic clutch for connecting the rear axle, which has six driving modes, including “Snow”, “Sand” and “Off-road”.

Changes in the interior

The exterior design of the Haval F7 has not changed in any way, the dimensions also remained the same (4780 x 1890 x 1707 mm), but the interior has become even more ergonomic and functional due to the new steering wheel with a thicker rim and the appearance of a separate button for the electronic parking brake on the center console, eliminating the need for the driver to control it through the multimedia menu systems.

Plus, the power of wireless charging for the smartphone has been increased to 50 W, and an active cooling system has been integrated into the charging pad itself. In the front of the cabin, in addition to the previous USB (Universal Serial Bus) Type A connector, a more modern and compact USB Type C has been added. Finally, the front seats in the Premium and Techno + trim levels are now equipped with 8-way electric adjustment.

Advanced multimedia capabilities

The Haval F7 multimedia system has received expanded interface customization options. One of the changes is the new Smart Widget application, which allows you to customize multimedia information blocks and hot keys to suit your preferences and tasks.

The screen area can be divided into separate areas to display the necessary and frequently used information: climate settings, audio and music parameters, weather, technical parameters of the car and more.

Another innovation is the Floating Widget, which is constantly displayed on the screen and displays the current speed by default. It also provides additional notifications when changing an audio track, connecting to Bluetooth, USB, or information about a Wi-Fi access point.

In addition, the capabilities of the multimedia system of the updated Haval F7 have been expanded due to the integration of the online service “VK Video”, thanks to which you can turn on and watch videos directly on the central display. All settings and browsing history are synchronized with the user account, but creating one is not necessary: all content is available even without a registered account.

Finally, since the beginning of this year, owners of Haval, Tank and Wey cars with activated GWM Connection telematics services have access to remote voice control of car functions using Alice in Yandex Stations. Voice commands allow you to start the engine, activate seat heating, check the status of the doors and, if necessary, lock them.

Production and adaptation to Russian conditions

The updated second-generation Haval F7 is produced using the full-cycle method at the Haval plant in the Tula region. All vehicles are well-adapted to Russian conditions by default: they feature enhanced anti-corrosion coating, a “winter package” with heated steering wheel, windshield, and washer nozzles, heated rear seats, a high-capacity battery, a larger washer reservoir, and preparation for a towbar. Also, a control panel with physical buttons was developed specifically for the Russian market.
