Changan is preparing a new crossover for Russia. Which model has been certified?
Changan is preparing to launch the third model of its subsidiary brand Deepal, the hybrid crossover Deepal S07, on the Russian market. The new model has already received the Vehicle Type Approval (VTA) and is preparing to start sales in Russia, the manufacturer’s press service told Avtonovosti Dnya.
Technically, the Deepal S07 is a serial hybrid, in which electric motors drive the wheels, and the gasoline engine acts only as a generator and recharges the 31.73 kWh battery, allowing you to travel on electricity for up to 174 km. The total range with a full gas tank reaches 992 km. The crossover can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds. It also supports fast charging from 30 to 80% in 30 minutes.
Changan notes that special attention was paid to the design when creating the Deepal S07. The car’s appearance was developed at the company’s European design center in Turin under the direction of Bertrand Bach, who previously worked at Volkswagen and General Motors.
It was the Italian school of automotive design that largely determined the character of the model, which combines clean lines, sporty proportions and modern technological solutions. The wide and low front end, the rear lights, made the entire width of the body with an illuminated logo and hidden door handles make the silhouette recognizable on the road.
