The Haval brand has made over-the-air software updates available for a number of F7, F7x, H3, H7 and H9 vehicles since October 8. It adds digital capabilities and improves the operation of services, increasing the level of comfort and safety, the press service of Great Wall Motor reported to Auto News of the Day.

Since October 8, the current over-the-air update has been available for crossovers The Haval F7 (2024 and 2026 model years), the F7x, H3, and H7 (2025 and 2026 model years), and the H9 SUV (2026 model year). This list also includes vehicles retrofitted with digital services. To receive the software, the car must support over-the-air (OTA) updates.

According to the GWM press service, the latest update optimizes the operation of the telematics module, which is responsible for remote control of car functions, and the voice assistant. The set of digital services in active subscriptions “GWM Connect Pro” and “GWM Multimedia” is expanded automatically. The subscription price does not increase.

The capabilities of the multimedia system interface change depending on the model and model year. Smart and floating widgets allow you to customize the desktop according to the user’s preferences, providing quick access to popular functions and information blocks. In addition, the “swipe back” gesture allows you to return to the previous screen level.

The VK Video service is becoming available for the Haval F7 2024 model year, H7, F7, F7x and H3 2025 model year, H9 2026 model year, as well as cars retrofitted with digital services. The videos are played directly on the multimedia system display.

The changes also affect Yandex Auto services. The Yandex Music and Yandex Books apps are combined into one, and their operation is optimized. Yandex Maps now displays 3D buildings and traffic lanes.

Some models can connect to a smartphone hotspot simultaneously with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The performance of the all-round camera is improved when connected to Apple CarPlay. The update also improves remote control of vehicle functions.

As explained by the Great Wall Motor press service, to receive the update package, the car owner needs to log in via GWM ID in the personal account on the multimedia system screen. The file is downloaded via the telematics module or Wi-Fi. The data transfer limit for remote control and multimedia applications is not consumed.

You can start installing the updates immediately after downloading them or postpone them to a convenient time. The press service clarified that the process can take up to 40 minutes, and you cannot use the car until it is complete. Before installation, you must park the car in a safe place with a stable internet connection and apply the parking brake.

Previously, owners of the 2024 and 2025 Haval H9 model years were able to retrofit their cars with a modern set of digital services. After this, they gained access to a voice assistant, the Yandex Auto platform, and remote software updates.
