2.5-liter turbodiesel, springs and a load capacity of up to 975 kg: Changan announced the Hunter Plus diesel pickup for Russia
Changan will expand the Russian lineup of the Hunter Plus pickup with a diesel modification, focused on the transportation of goods and towing trailers. The Changan press service reported this to the Auto News of the Day publication.
Under the hood of the new version of Changan Hunter Plus is a 2.5-liter Isuzu turbodiesel engine that meets the Euro 5 emission standard. The maximum torque is 400 Nm and is achieved already at 1800 rpm. According to Changan, thanks to this, the pickup truck confidently starts off under load and maintains traction on long climbs.
The driver can select the modes “Eco”, “Comfort”, “Sport”, “Snow” and “Off-road”, use the rear interwheel differential lock, as well as the assistance systems when ascending and descending from the hill.
The diesel pickup truck has received factory preparation for a towbar with an electrical outlet, which simplifies the installation of a hook of a towing hitch. The vehicle is designed to tow a braked trailer weighing up to 2,500 kg. A stabilization system ensures stability, and a towing mode helps maintain control of the vehicle and trailer while driving.
The exterior distinguishing feature of this modification is a black roll bar in the body with an integrated brake light. Like the gasoline Hunter Plus, it is equipped with LED headlights. A 360-degree camera with a “transparent chassis” function and rear parking sensors help with maneuvering and parking, and a built-in video recorder records images from four cameras at once.
The multimedia system includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen and supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connection. In front of the driver is a digital instrument panel with a 7-inch display. The seats are trimmed in perforated eco-leather, the front seats are equipped with heating and electrical adjustment.
In addition to front airbags, the equipment includes side airbags. The list of equipment also includes climate control, cruise control and mirrors with heating, electric drive and automatic folding.
The length of the car is 5350 mm, the width varies from 1930 to 1980 mm, the height is from 1865 to 1895 mm. The wheelbase is 3180 mm. The size of the cargo platform is 1600 by 1595 mm, the height of its sides is 500 mm.
The salon is designed for five people, and the fuel tank holds 80 liters. Changan’s Executive Director in Russia, Alexander Kulagin, noted that the gasoline Hunter Plus has proven itself as a comfortable business pickup for long trips. According to him, boat owners have repeatedly requested a diesel version with high torque at low revs for towing on poor roads and steep climbs.
The company will disclose details about the trim levels and the start of sales of the diesel Hunter Plus later.
