A 38-year-old man offered to help owners with the delivery of cars from Poland, their storage, preparation for sale, finding buyers, and paperwork. For this, they gave him a 2019 Audi Q8 and a 2017 Porsche Panamera 4S, along with the keys. Between March and July 2022, the man sold both cars but did not return the money to the owners.
It turned out that he had in fact appropriated the property of the victims totaling more than 460,000 rubles.
In court, the accused partially admitted his guilt. According to him, after selling the cars, he wanted to invest the money in his own business and then return it to the owners. However, he did not have time to do this. The car owners contacted the police and demanded the return of the money from the sale of the cars.
— Based on Part 4 of Art. 211 of the Criminal Code (appropriation of property by a person entrusted with it, on an especially large scale) was sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 6 years with a fine of 100 basic units (4,500 rubles) without deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities, —the Minsk prosecutor’s office reports.
In addition, the court fully satisfied the civil claim for compensation for material damage filed by the representative of the victims.
