A court in Turkey sentenced Onur Obut to 2 years and 11 months in prison for an accident in which Russian biker and blogger Tatyana Ozolina, known on social networks as MotoTanya, died. The man was found guilty of causing death by negligence.
The accident occurred in July 2024 in the Turkish province of Mugla. According to media reports, motorcycles ridden by Ozolina and Obut collided on the highway between the cities of Söke and Milas near the village of Sarıçay. A Russian woman died as a result of the accident.
After the accident, Obut claimed that the cause of the collision was Ozolina’s mistake while overtaking a truck. Shortly after questioning, the man was released.
Now a court in Milas has found him guilty of causing death by negligence and sentenced him to 2 years and 11 months in prison. The verdict was announced by the lawyer for the family of the deceased, Ali Shan.
