The Russian new car market continues to expand with models that are not officially available in our country. Another interesting new product is the Chinese-assembled Volkswagen Lavida XR. This sedan can be ordered with delivery to Russia for approximately 1.75 million rubles.
The Lavida XR is interesting because for a relatively small price for a new Volkswagen, the buyer gets a car with a naturally aspirated gasoline engine and a classic six-speed Aisin automatic transmission.
How much is the Volkswagen Lavida XR selling for?
The most affordable offer found is a 2026 model for 1.75 million rubles with delivery from Samara to Moscow.
We are talking about the Outstanding version. It is equipped with a digital instrument panel, a multimedia system with a touch screen, cruise control, a speed limiter, a light sensor, air conditioning, an electronic parking brake with AutoHold and a multi-wheel.
Cars of previous years of production cost about the same. In Novosibirsk, the 2024 Lavida XR is offered for 1.81 million rubles, and in Irkutsk a similar car is estimated at 1.82 million rubles.
A small difference between cars of different years of production may be due to the conditions of specific deliveries, logistics and configurations.

Why the Lavida XR turned out to be cheaper than some Russian sedans
The price from 1.75 million rubles looks especially noticeable against the background of the cost of competitors.
For example, the Belgee S50 with an automatic transmission is offered according to the price list for at least 2,069,990 rubles. A LADA Vesta with a CVT and not the maximum level of equipment costs about 1.86 million rubles.
Against this background, the Lavida XR formally appears cheaper.

Therefore, before purchasing, it makes sense to check the VIN, exact configuration, and compatibility of consumables. It is also advisable to check the availability of spare parts specifically for the Lavida XR, and not just for Volkswagen vehicles with a similar engine.

The story with the Lavida XR shows how much the structure of the Russian car market has changed. Today, buyers can choose not only from officially supplied models, but also order cars that were originally intended exclusively for other countries.
In the first eight months of 2026, according to Sergei Tselikov, 47.8 thousand new passenger cars were imported to Russia through Kyrgyzstan – 156% more than the previous year.
Moreover, the overwhelming majority of these cars had engines more powerful than 160 hp. Lavida XR stands apart: its 110-horsepower naturally aspirated engine is focused more on economical and quiet operation than on high dynamics.
Who might the Chinese Volkswagen suit
Lavida XR will primarily interest those who need a new sedan, an automatic transmission and a well-known European brand, but the budget is limited to approximately 1.8 million rubles.
At the same time, the buyer will have to accept the peculiarities of parallel delivery: the absence of the usual official dealer scheme, the need to check the configuration and calculate all additional costs in advance.
That is why the main question when choosing Lavida XR is not only the price in the ad, but how much the car will cost after delivery, registration and registration . If the final price increases significantly, the advantage over the sedans available in Russia may shrink.
