Niva has never had anything like this before: how the legendary Russian SUV can be updated
AvtoVAZ may again update the three-door SUV LADA Niva Legend in 2027. This was reported by Togliatti blogger KhaDm, who specified that this would not be a major, but a minor update, which would add a couple of missing options to the already presented restyling.
According to the blogger, we are talking, first of all, about two things that were not on the modernized LADA Niva Legend, presented at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) in early June. These are LED headlights and a trunk release button.
In addition, as KhaDm claims, as part of the 2027 update, the classic Niva will have a slightly different radiator grille and “a few other little things.” There is no information about them yet, and in general, AvtoVAZ has not announced plans for the next revision of the SUV.
In any case, the updated LADA Niva Legend has already received more than 100 new and over 60 modernized parts and units. The main innovation was the 8-valve 90-horsepower engine from Niva Travel, which surpasses the current 80-horsepower engine in both power (by 10 hp) and torque (by 24 Nm).
Photo AvtoVAZ In addition, the restyled Niva received ventilated front brake discs, a new steering wheel with a front airbag from the LADA Granta, a third support for the transfer case, one-piece molded noise insulation of the hood, air intakes on the hood to improve ventilation of the underhood space, a central lock with a single key for doors and ignition, a modern heating and air conditioning system with a cabin filter, as well as original two-color 16-inch wheels of a new design.
In addition, for the first time in the history of the classic Niva, body parts made of double-sided Galvanized steel: front panel, hood, roof, rear door and rear apron. As promised by AvtoVAZ, this should increase the durability of the car in difficult operating conditions.
