A new domestic frame SUV, which has never been produced in Russia, will be produced at UAZ
The Sollers company officially presented a pre-production version of the frame SUV Sollers S9, which will begin to be produced at the UAZ industrial site this year. The new car assembled in Ulyanovsk was personally inspected by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov.

As reported to “Auto News of the Day” in the press service of “Sollers”, the Sollers S9 SUV was developed The company’s engineers, with the participation of Bauman Moscow State Technical University and a technology partner, joined in at the final stage and were involved, in particular, in developing the interior, radiator grille, and finding the optimal positioning for the all-round camera.
“The model with a galvanized body made of Russian metal and a winter option package successfully confirmed its climatic suitability for use in Russia during testing,” the Sollers press service said in a statement.
A pilot batch of SUVs has now been assembled and submitted for certification. Full-scale serial production of Sollers S9 using full-cycle technology with stamping, welding and painting of bodies will begin in September of this year.

“In the year of its 85th anniversary, the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant is going through a turning point in its history, turning into a multifunctional industrial hub, uniting the root production of UAZ vehicles, the latest technological capacities and the production of a wide range of Sollers models, including a new SUV model, which, we are confident, will be in demand among Russian buyers,” noted the Chairman of the Board of Directors of PJSC Sollers, Adil Shirinov.
)Let us recall that at the end of April, the Sollers company announced the completion of the development of the Sollers S9 SUV and the model’s readiness for serial production. It is known that the car will receive a spring rear suspension from the “donor” Sollers ST9 pickup truck and a four-wheel drive with several operating modes for different road conditions.
Meanwhile, the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant has begun final tests of the updated UAZ Patriot SUV with a diesel engine. The car is tested at a special NAMI testing ground, bringing the suspension settings, steering system and other important components to perfection.
