A serious accident involving an electric bus and a car occurred near building No. 18 on Akademika Kuprevicha Street in Minsk. According to eyewitnesses, the accident appears to be large-scale: several ambulances are on the scene taking away the injured.

Judging by photographs from the scene, at least one car and an electric bus were involved. The vehicle showed serious damage.

— The Renault was flying from the direction of Uruchye with a car full of passengers. He crossed into the oncoming lane and almost hit an electric bus on route 64 head-on, — an eyewitness says.

According to a passenger on the electric bus, the impact was not very strong for the people inside — the vehicle was already almost approaching the final stop and was traveling at minimum speed.

— It was raining lightly, the electric bus was almost approaching the final stop and was traveling slowly, because there was a speed bump before entering. At some point, the Renault crossed into the oncoming lane right into the electric bus head-on. The impact threw me onto the handrail, but nothing serious happened—not even a bruise.

Immediately after the impact, I saw the car turning around and started calling an ambulance. The Renault driver’s face was literally torn apart. When I got closer, I smelled a strong smell of alcohol. There was a passenger in the front seat and he wasn’t moving, so I even thought he was trapped inside. We didn’t touch anyone because we were afraid to make things worse. About nine minutes later, the ambulance and the Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived.

There is no official information yet about the number of victims and the circumstances of the accident. The Minsk State Traffic Inspectorate asks drivers to take the situation into account when choosing a route.
