Volga unveiled the K40 crossover, a rebadged Geely with a new design.
The Volga brand unveiled its third model, which will be produced in Nizhny Novgorod and soon officially sold in Russia. It was the mid-size crossover Volga K40, which, as expected, turned out to be a re-badged analogue of the “Chinese” Geely Atlas, already known to Russians.

Judging by the photographs, According to the data obtained by “Auto News of the Day”, the new Volga K40 still managed to distance itself from the Chinese “donor” in terms of design. The crossover received a completely original front part of the body, which stands out with a bumper of a different design, a radiator grille with vertical slats, like the Volga C50 sedan, and its own head optics, implemented in the form of horizontal LED “boomerangs”, connected by a solid LED strip running along the hood.

As they claim in the press service of Volga, the K50 crossover is built on a modern and technological platform. Its long wheelbase, the exact size of which has not yet been specified, and a well-thought-out body layout create a spacious interior for comfortable accommodation of the driver and passengers, and a capacious trunk makes the model an excellent choice for family trips and travel.

The interior turned out to be exactly the same as The Geely Atlas. Potential buyers will appreciate its ergonomics with an intuitive control layout, a digital instrument cluster with informative graphics behind the steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, a large panoramic roof, ambient lighting, a premium audio system with 11 speakers, electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats, and a head-up display. The manufacturer also promises to equip the crossover with a package of “winter” options.

Volga K40 buyers will have a choice of two power units: more affordable versions will get a 1.5-liter 147-horsepower gasoline turbo engine paired with a seven-speed “robot” and front-wheel drive, and more expensive versions will get a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with a capacity of 200 hp, aggregated with an eight-speed automatic hydromechanical transmission (8AT) and all-wheel drive.
The Volga press service did not name the start date of sales of the crossover. The other two models – the C50 business sedan (a rebadged Geely Preface) and the K50 crossover (a rebadged Geely Monjaro) will arrive at the brand’s dealerships this summer.
