Moskvich continues to expand its model range, and one of the main newcomers is the M70 crossover. On paper, the car looks attractive: modern design, rich equipment, a spacious interior, and powerful engines. However, after the first tests, it becomes clear that not everything is so rosy. The M70 looks noticeably fresher than previous models of the brand. The design turned out to be dynamic and memorable, without the feeling of a budget car.
Why it is better not to buy the Moskvich M70
Now about the disadvantages that may make you refuse to buy it.
No all-wheel drive
For a crossover costing more than three million rubles, the lack of an all-wheel drive version seems strange. Most of the main competitors already offer AWD, while the M70 is only available with front-wheel drive. For Russian conditions, this is a serious drawback.
Body sway
One of the main complaints about the car is noticeable vertical vibrations on asphalt waves and large uneven surfaces. Some journalists note that sensitive passengers may even get motion sickness.
Mediocre soundproofing
At high speeds, noise from the tires, wind and engine penetrates into the cabin. The new product does not yet reach the level of the best Chinese competitors in terms of acoustic comfort.
Not the most convenient ergonomics
The climate control system is partially hidden in the multimedia screen. When using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, this can be annoying and distracting.
Controversial settings of the powerful version
The two-liter engine with 200 hp seems an attractive option, but tests have shown that its tuning is not ideal. The car can respond too sharply to the gas pedal, and the front wheels easily break into slippage.
Price no longer seems like an advantage
While the first Moskvichs were attracted primarily by their affordability, the M70 costs from three million rubles and falls into a segment where strong players from China are already represented. In this category, buyers begin to compare not only price, but also brand reputation, liquidity, and build quality.
Is the Moskvich M70 worth buying?
The Moskvich M70 can hardly be called a bad car. It is spacious, modern, and well-equipped. However, for the asking price, the buyer only gets front-wheel drive, average sound insulation, and a suspension with noticeable body roll.
If you need a comfortable, well-equipped family crossover and are willing to put up with the shortcomings listed, the M70 is worth considering. But if secondary market liquidity, all-wheel drive, and more refined vehicle settings are important, there are more interesting options on the market today.
Verdict: The Moskvich M70 turned out to be better than the brand’s previous models, but it doesn’t yet look like a car worth abandoning its proven competitors for.
