Secret revealed: The new Volkswagen ID.Tiguan has been spotted driving uncamouflaged.

The new electric crossover Volkswagen ID.Tiguan unexpectedly appeared in the lenses of spy photographers during road tests. And the most interesting thing is that the car turned out to be practically without camouflage, which allowed us to examine its details right now.

Judging by the photos of Carscoops, the new model is largely based on the ID.4, but it definitely cannot be called a “copy”. Volkswagen engineers significantly redesigned the body, and now the design looks closer to what the production ID.Tiguan may be.

What has changed in the design

At the front, the crossover received a new bumper with side air intakes and horizontal inserts. In the center there is a block of sensors – a clear hint at advanced driver assistance systems.

On the sides there are completely new doors with more pronounced handles. The lower part of the body is now designed in a more “clean” aerodynamic style, in contrast to the rough plastic body kit of the ID.4.

At the rear, the trunk lid has been noticeably redesigned, and the taillight is designed as a continuous light line stretched across the entire width of the body.

What is known about the technology

It is expected that the ID.Tiguan will be built on the MEB+ platform, which will form the basis for future Volkswagen Group models.

According to preliminary data, the crossover will receive two battery options – 58 and 79 kWh. The engine lineup has not yet been revealed, but the manufacturer promises significantly improved efficiency and dynamics.

When to expect the premiere

Despite the appearance of the first “live” photos, the official premiere is still far away. Details about the Volkswagen ID.Tiguan are expected closer to 2027.

It looks like Volkswagen is preparing a serious player in the electric crossover market – and now its appearance is no longer a secret.
