Perm police now have a new service vehicle at their disposal – the van-combi SKM M9, which is being prepared for production by AvtoVAZ in collaboration with the Nizhny Novgorod company Promtech. The appearance of a pre-production model may mean the imminent start of updating the vehicle fleet of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
What is this model
SKM M9 is a front-wheel drive van, which after the launch of production will be produced in several versions at once:
- 7-seater minivan
- 8-seater minivan
- 9-seater minibus
- cargo van
Technology and specifications
Under the hood of all modifications is a 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine with a capacity of 150 hp.
Two transmissions are offered to choose from:
- 9-speed automatic
- 6-speed manual transmission
Project basis
The SKM M9 is based on the Chinese platform Maxus V70 from SAIC. The same architecture is used in models under the IVECO, LDV and Chevrolet brands. Production is planned to be organized at two sites at once – in Nizhny Novgorod and Tolyatti.
When to expect it on the roads
The start of serial sales of the Russian version is scheduled for September of this year. The appearance of the car at the disposal of the police may indicate the beginning of pre-production tests and adaptation of the model to departmental tasks.
