1,169 hp and 2.1-second acceleration: Mercedes-AMG unveils new electric GT Coupe

Mercedes-AMG officially unveiled the new all-electric sports sedan AMG GT 4-Door Coupe, which has become one of the brand’s most technologically advanced models.

The main feature of the new product is three axial electric motors from the British company YASA, which is part of Mercedes-Benz.

Record power and dynamics

Thanks to the use of compact axial motors, engineers were able to significantly reduce the weight of the power plant and increase efficiency.

The performance figures are impressive:

  • Power — up to 1169 hp
  • Torque — about 2000 Nm
  • Acceleration 0–100 km/h — 2.1 seconds
  • 0–200 km/h — 6.8 seconds

Motorsport-level battery

The electric car has received a new high-performance battery with ultra-thin cylindrical cells with a diameter of about 2.5 cm.

A system with non-conductive oil circulation is used for cooling – a technology borrowed from motorsports, including Formula 1.

According to Mercedes-AMG, the cooling efficiency is approximately 4 times higher than that of the Mercedes EQS battery.

Architecture and charging of the future

The model is built on 800-volt platform and supports ultra-fast charging with a power of up to 600 kW – one of the highest rates among production electric vehicles.

The manufacturer claims that the battery maintains a stable temperature even during a series of intense acceleration and drag races.
