Tenet presented the new family crossover Tenet T4L in Russia

The Tenet brand, which produces cars at the former Volkswagen plant in Kaluga, announced the expansion of its lineup with the new Tenet T4L crossover. It is a larger and more spacious version of the T4 model, offering more practicality and comfort for family use.

The main and most noticeable difference between the new Tenet T4L and the T4 model is its increased body dimensions. The length has increased by 186 mm, the height – by almost 50 mm, and the wheelbase has increased by 40 mm. The new model’s overall dimensions are 4,506 x 1,828 x 1,701 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,650 mm. This has increased rear passenger space, while trunk space has increased by 135 liters (up to 475 liters with the second-row seats up and up to 1,500 liters with them folded).

In addition, the T4L crossover has received an updated design and additional equipment. The manufacturer highlights 18-inch alloy wheels, a rain sensor, a six-speaker audio system, pre-installed telematics, and height-adjustable headrests. The new model is also certified for use with a towing hitch with a maximum towing capacity of up to 750 kg. The suspension is fully independent both front and rear.

The interior of the extended model, which remained five-seater, is finished in a dark color with a light gray ceiling. The driver’s seat has six-way electrical adjustment, while the front passenger seat has four-way mechanical adjustment. Additional comfort is provided by height-adjustable headrests and a heated leather multifunction steering wheel with a thick rim.

The central place in the interior of the Tenet T4L is given to the digital control zone, which combines three screens: a digital instrument panel with a trip computer with a diagonal of 10.25 inches, a multimedia complex display of the same size (supports wireless connection of a smartphone via Apple CarPlay / Android Auto) and a separate 8-inch touchscreen for dual-zone climate control on the center console.

The built-in telematics system allows remote access to the main functions of the car via a mobile application. The owner can monitor the mileage, fuel level, battery voltage and location of the car, as well as remotely lock and unlock the doors, start the engine and control the climate.

In addition, the standard equipment of the model includes front and front side airbags, a system for locking the rear doors to prevent accidental opening by children, a function of automatic locking of the doors at speed and a full “winter package” that includes the functions of remote engine start and interior heating, as well as heated seats, steering wheel, windshield and washer nozzles.

  • To assist the driver, the Tenet T4L is equipped with a number of electronic assistants. In particular, the ABS, ESC and TPMS systems monitor the car’s behavior on the road, and the 360° surround view system in combination with parking sensors simplifies parking and maneuvering in tight spaces. Additional convenience is provided by a rain sensor, a light sensor, and the “Follow me home” function, thanks to which the headlights remain on for several seconds after the ignition is turned off.

    The new model has no alternative powertrain yet: a 1.5-liter, 147-horsepower turbocharged gasoline engine that produces up to 210 Nm of torque and is combined with a six-speed preselective “robot” with two “wet” clutches. Front-wheel drive. Minimum fuel consumption in the extra-urban cycle is 6.5 liters per 100 km.

      Production of the Tenet T4L, like other Tenet models, will be organized using the full-cycle method at the AGR holding plant in Kaluga, which previously belonged to the German concern Volkswagen. For this reason, the crossover will be fully adapted to Russian operating conditions: its body and hidden cavities are additionally treated with wax, and the underbody is protected with anti-corrosion, anti-gravel and noise-insulating materials.

      Prices and trim levels of the new Tenet T4L have not yet been announced. The “standard” compact T4 crossover in 2026 trim levels currently costs from 2,169,000 to 2,659,000 rubles. Prices for “last year’s” cars range from 2,089,000 to 2,599,000 rubles.

      It was previously reported that another crossover from the Tenet line, the T7, became the leader of the Russian car market in terms of sales revenue in March 2026. According to Avtostat Info, it was this model that brought dealers the most money among all new passenger cars sold in Russia last month.
