Massive Steam Outage: Thousands of Complaints Worldwide

According to the Downdetector service, users from various countries are reporting problems with the popular gaming platform. Complaints are coming in from Germany, the US, the UK, Poland, Turkey, and Russia, which may indicate the widespread nature of the issues.

According to statistics, approximately 65% of users are experiencing difficulties accessing the site, another 25% are reporting problems logging into their personal accounts, and 9% are reporting data synchronization issues. These issues may be caused by temporary server overloads, technical work, or internal system errors.

Steam is one of the largest digital platforms for distributing computer games, owned by Valve. Launched in 2003, the service was initially created as a tool for automatically updating games. However, over time, it has evolved into a fully-fledged online store and social platform for gamers.

Today, Steam unites millions of users worldwide. The platform offers thousands of games and add-ons, supports Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems, provides cloud save storage, an achievement system, a user-generated content workshop, and communication tools such as chats, groups, and broadcasts. In addition, the service regularly holds large seasonal sales, which attract significant attention from the audience.
