The most reliable used sedans in Russia, priced under a million rubles, have been named. The list includes models that are still considered among the most trouble-free on the secondary market.
Za Rulem expert Alexander Vinogradov studied the situation on the used car market and identified five domestically assembled sedans that can be purchased for less than 1 million rubles without serious risks for the owner.
At the same time, the expert warns: before buying, it is important to look not only at the condition of the body and engine, but also carefully check the car’s history. Many popular models were previously widely used in taxis, delivery, and car sharing, and then, after rolling back the mileage, ended up on the secondary market.
The pre-restyling Lada Vesta became the leader of the rating. According to the expert, the car is distinguished by good equipment, reliable units, corrosion resistance, and a spacious trunk. The version with a Nissan H4M engine and a CVT is considered the best option.
The Hyundai Solaris and Kia Rio took second and third places. These models have long been considered among the most liquid in Russia, but they also have their weak points. Among the main problems are the thin paintwork, the body’s susceptibility to corrosion, as well as possible scuffing in the Gamma 1.6 engine and a short timing chain life.
The Kaluga-assembled Volkswagen Polo also made it into the top 5. For up to a million rubles, you can still find cars from 2019-2020 in decent condition on the market.
The second-generation Renault Logan rounds out the rating. The expert noted the reliable manual transmission and stable operation of the CVT, although owners will have to monitor the adjustment of valve clearances.
Despite the age and mileage, these models are today considered one of the best options for those looking for an inexpensive and reliable sedan for every day.
