A Soviet minibus, which can be considered rare these days, was spotted on Odintsova Street in the capital. This is a RAF-2203 “Latvia” (popularly known as “rafik”), produced by the Riga Bus Factory from 1976 to 1997. It should be noted that there are currently no ads for this model on Belarusian auto flea markets.
At one time, the RAF-2203 was used as a route taxi, and it could also be found in the vehicle fleets of special services or in ambulances. According to online information, components of the GAZ-24 Volga were used in the creation of this model. The RAF-2203 had a 4.98-meter-long monocoque all-metal body, a front-mounted 2.4-liter ZMZ engine (85, 95 hp after modernization) driving the rear wheels.
