The new Moskvich crossover will get a hybrid and all-wheel drive: when will this be
The Moskvich plant plans to put a plug-in hybrid version of the mid-size Moskvich M70 crossover on the assembly line in 2027. It will be the brand’s first hybrid model, said the company’s CEO Elena Frolova in an interview with Maxim Kadakov, editor-in-chief of the magazine “Behind the Wheel.”

“While initially we were considering the M70 only with an internal combustion engine, we are now also preparing a plug-in hybrid version. It should be the brand’s first hybrid to hit the assembly line,” said Elena Frolova.

The company also plans to integrate a voice assistant with artificial intelligence technologies into the M70 crossover. New digital services for the car will be developed on its basis.
Meanwhile, Moskvich signed a memorandum with the Atom company and the Chinese firm Hangzhou Shibao on the joint development and integration of the Steer-by-wire steering system (a “steering wheel without a mechanical connection to the wheels”) for the brand’s cars. When it will be implemented has not yet been specified.
