The third possible model of the Volga brand has been revealed. What kind of crossover is this?
A new model of the revived Volga brand may appear on the Belarusian market. This is the Volga K40, a rebadged version of the fourth-generation Chinese Geely Atlas crossover. The car is currently undergoing certification in the republic.
Belarus may become one of the first foreign markets for the presence of the legendary brand, which is now written in Latin. The Volga K40 crossover has already received three certificates of conformity there, which are necessary for obtaining Vehicle Type Approval (VTA) and the start of mass sales of cars with the receipt of PTS.
As a reminder, the fourth-generation Geely Atlas, on the basis of which the Volga K40 is built, debuted in China last year. Built on the modular CMA platform, it is a mid-size crossover measuring 4,730 mm in length, 1,910 mm in width, and 1,710 mm in height. In its domestic Chinese market, its price before discounts ranges from 106,900 to 126,900 yuan, or 1.2 to 1.5 million rubles at the current exchange rate. It is still unknown how much its analogue under the Volga brand will cost.
As the portal “Chinese cars” notes, the certification of the Volga K40 crossover in Belarus may be a simple formality. The fact is that in Russia this procedure, presumably, did not go according to plan, and the OTTS obtained in the neighboring country will be valid throughout the entire territory of the EAEU, which, in addition to Russia and Belarus, also includes Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
