Hyundai unveiled the Boulder concept body-on-frame SUV in New York.

The world premiere of the new Hyundai Boulder concept body-on-frame SUV took place at the New York International Auto Show, which is currently underway. This is a prototype of the future mid-size pickup truck with a frame design, which should debut on the market closer to 2030.

Hyundai Boulder is designed to demonstrate the first in the history of the Korean brand a fully frame body design. It will form the basis of Hyundai’s future production mid-size pickup truck, aimed primarily at American consumers who need pickups and SUVs for off-roading, as well as towing and hauling cargo.

Body-on-frame vehicles are the backbone of the American work and recreational segment, and we intend to compete in the midsize pickup segment with everything we have. This body-on-frame pickup is one of 36 new Hyundai vehicles that will be introduced in North America by 2030. “We’re entering markets where we’ve never competed before, and we’re doing it the right way: designed in America, built by Americans for American customers,” commented Jose Munoz, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Company.

The Hyundai Boulder concept car has a rugged, rugged exterior with a square body, large wheels, tow hooks, roof-mounted lights, and a rear spare tire. Among other advantages of the new product, Hyundai named “excellent visibility” and high ground clearance, the size of which was not specified.

  • The SUV’s interior is simple and practical with convenient physical handles and buttons, folding tables and highly comfortable seats. Key interior elements that the driver and passengers most often come into contact with, including handles, armrests and other areas subject to high wear, are made of durable, wear-resistant materials.

    All technical specifications of the concept are kept secret. It is only known that it is built on a frame chassis, which in the future will form the basis of the aforementioned mid-size pickup truck for the American market.
