“AvtoVAZ” plans to launch serial production of the flagship crossover LADA Azimut in 2026 and bring the new LADA Vesta Sport to the market. This was stated by the company’s president, Maxim Sokolov, whose words are quoted by the press service of the Russian auto giant.
“We confirm plans to update the model range and intend to begin production of the flagship LADA Azimut crossover in the coming year, equip the Niva Legend with a new 1.8-liter engine, and also bring the Vesta Sport to the market,” said Maxim Sokolov.
There is no information about the new LADA Vesta Sport no, but it is obvious that it will have the same appearance as the standard one, with the exception of a number of sporty design accents and, possibly, a modified bumper design.
The pre-restyling version of Vesta Sport was produced from 2018 to 2022 and was equipped with a 145-horsepower naturally aspirated 1.8-liter VAZ-21179 engine, which, producing 182 Nm, allowed it to accelerate to 100 km / h in 9.6 seconds. The gearbox was a five-speed Renault JR5, but the updated model will most likely receive a Chinese “six-speed” from WLY.
