Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro: Record-Breaking Batteries and a New Level of Autonomy

Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro: Record-Breaking Batteries and a New Level of Autonomy

Xiaomi unveiled new smartphones in the 17T and 17T Pro series, continuing the line’s tradition of focusing not on cameras, but on hardware, performance, and battery life.

The main improvement in this generation is the battery – and it is they that distinguish the new products from most competitors.

Record batteries for the global market

In the international versions, Xiaomi has installed the most capacious batteries in the entire history of its smartphones outside of China.

  • Xiaomi 17T – battery 6500 mAh
  • Xiaomi 17T Pro — battery 7000 mAh

Both models use silicon-carbon technology, which allows to increase the capacity without a significant increase in dimensions.

In real-world use, this energy reserve provides up to two days of battery life.

    Performance on MediaTek Dimensity

Both smartphones are built on MediaTek chips:

    • 17T — Dimensity 8500 Ultra
    • 17T Pro — Dimensity 9500
    • Both devices are equipped with 12 GB of RAM

In general, the line is focused on high performance and stable operation under load, and not on the photo-flagship segment.

Differences between 17T and 17T Pro

The Pro version is noticeably larger and more functional:

    • screen 6.83 inches versus 6.59 inches
    • refresh rate up to 144 Hz
    • support wireless charging
    • wired charging up to 100 W

    Cameras: no radical differences

  • The main set of cameras in the models is almost the same:

    • main sensor (slightly larger in the Pro version)
    • telephoto 50 MP with 5× zoom
    • ultra-wide 12 MP
    • front camera 32 MP

Despite decent test results, the camera system is inferior to the regular Xiaomi 17 flagship, which has more powerful additional lenses with the same main sensor.

      Price and start of sales

Smartphones are already entering the European market:

      • 17T — from 749 euros
      • 17T Pro — from 899 euros
      • For comparison: Xiaomi 17 starts at 999 euros
