At the Grigorovshchina checkpoint, Vitebsk customs officers interrupted the journey of a DAF truck and semi-trailer traveling from Latvia. The truck was driven by a driver from a Kyrgyz company.
During the inspection, customs officers had doubts about the authenticity of the VIN numbers. An examination showed that the markings on the truck and semi-trailer had been altered. It was later discovered that they were trying to pass off the vehicle as one already registered in the EAEU, using someone else’s license plates and documents.
The tractor and semi-trailer worth more than 97,000 rubles were seized.
— The Vitebsk Customs Office has initiated administrative proceedings against the carrier in accordance with Part 2 of Article 15.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. According to the article’s sanction, he faces a fine of up to 500 basic units with possible confiscation of the coupling, – reported the customs authorities of Belarus.
