At the request of Autonews.ru, insurance companies compiled an anti-rating of cars that were most often involved in accidents in 2025. The experts also told which cars are most often smashed “total” (accidents with complete destruction of the car) and named the most accident-prone regions of the country.
The growth of accidents and the participation of Chinese cars
The company “RESO-Garantiya” reported that in the first half of 2025 the number of insurance cases increased by 21% compared to the same period in 2024.
In “Absolut Insurance” noted that under CASCO policies, on the contrary, the number of losses decreased by 10%.
According to “Renaissance Insurance” and “Zetta Insurance” , the accident rate remained at the level of last year – about 20%. Soglasie also confirmed that there are almost no changes, and the difference between 2024 and 2025 is only a few thousand cases.
However, there is a noticeable increase in the number of accidents with Chinese cars – almost 10% compared to last year.

Zetta Insurance noted a high percentage of total accidents in Chinese cars, but did not disclose specific brands. VAG group cars are also often crashed.
Soglasie recorded a high percentage of totals in Lada models: Granta, Vesta, 2101 and 2108. The only foreign car on the list is Toyota Corolla.
RESO-Garantiya added that the probability of total loss is affected by the cost of spare parts. In 2025, the following models were classified as “dangerous”: Volkswagen, Škoda, Kia, Geely, Hyundai, VAZ, Mercedes, BMW, Chery and Audi.
