Author: Artem Begovsky

The story of the Avalon Auto auto dealership made headlines in 2025. Representatives of the dealership accepted cars on commission and sold them in Russia. The owners of the cars did not receive money from the transaction. This version was voiced by the victims themselves and the police. Now the police have declared Roman Taraskov (born in 1993) and Nadezhda Taraskova (Makarchenko) (born in 1998) wanted on suspicion of large-scale fraud. According to law enforcement officials, they acted as a group of individuals by prior conspiracy and acted on behalf of Avalon Auto LLC.

Wanted

According to law enforcement officials, while in Belarus, including Minsk, they acted as a group of individuals by prior conspiracy and acted on behalf of Avalon Auto LLC. Under the pretext of providing services for the sale of cars under commission agreements and the transfer of proceeds to the owners, the suspects are believed to have had no intention of fulfilling their obligations and took possession of the property of about 400 individuals, including residents of Russia.

The police also draw attention to a change in the company’s management shortly before information about the debts appeared. According to open data, Viktor Valerievich N. became the new owner on August 22, 2025, at a time when the company already had significant financial obligations. In April 2025, a person with the same full name registered as a sole proprietor in the Penza region of Russia, engaging in freight transportation. According to open sources, it was to Penza that the majority of Avalon Auto’s Belarusian clients’ vehicles were transported. The registered address is listed as Chernozer’e, Penza Oblast.

Until September 2024, the founder was listed as Nadezhda Sergeevna T. A person with the same full name is (or was) an athlete-instructor for the Belarusian national team.

Law enforcement officials believe the wanted individuals may be located in the Russian Federation. According to available information, their four-year-old daughter is with them.

If you know the whereabouts of the wanted persons, the police ask that you contact the nearest internal affairs department or call:

The high-profile story of “Avalon Auto”. What actually happened?

The story of the Avalon Auto auto dealership thundered in 2025. The dealership’s representatives accepted cars on consignment and sold them in Russia. The owners received no money from the transactions. This was the version of events voiced by the victims themselves and the police.

“Advertisements offering car sales services with enticing terms were posted online, attracting genuine customers. The entrepreneurs guaranteed the sale of the vehicles at the desired price. Commission agreements were concluded with those who responded to the ad,” the Investigative Committee reported.

In the spring of 2025, the first dissatisfied customers began to appear, having not received payment for the cars they sold. Classic excuses were used: “The money from the buyer has not been received,” “The car has not been sold yet.” The proceeds were used to maintain the appearance of a prosperous business, personal needs and to cover debts – according to the classic financial pyramid scheme. According to available data, the amount of damage caused was approximately 2,000,000 rubles.

Vitaly, who became one of the victims in this case, told us a typical story.

    — “I put the car up for sale on a large Belarusian online platform , ,” he recalls. — They called me from the Avalon Auto car dealership, offered their services and said that the car is a popular one in Russia and will sell quickly. I decided to give it a try. Autohaus added their commission to my price and put the car up for sale.

I found out that the Mazda had moved to Penza by chance when I was looking through ads on Avito and Avto.ru. There, it was for sale at a local car dealership.

  • Later, I found out: Avalon Auto registered my car as a “hanger” from Minsk on the same day I deregistered the Mazda with the State Traffic Inspectorate. And on the same day, the car was resold to another individual in Penza. I filed a report with the Frunzensky District Department of Internal Affairs, and the car was added to the wanted list. Three days later, I went to Penza with the other victims. There, in the car dealership, to my surprise, we found my Mazda. There there were two floors filled with cars with Belarusian transit plates. Or without plates, but clearly from Belarus. I immediately called the police and said that the dealership was selling cars that were wanted. About 15 minutes after my call, cars from the auto dealership began to suddenly drive off in an unknown direction.

Other details of the high-profile case – in our material while the trail is still hot.

Updated. What is known about the founders of “Avalon Auto?

An Olympic participant and a drag racing prize winner — it should be noted that the founders of the high-profile auto house are interesting personalities and quite well-known in narrow circles. In more detail about all the details that we managed to find out, we told in a separate material. Below we will briefly present some facts from the biography of the married couple, who are now publicly wanted by the police.

Nadezhda Sergeevna Taraskova (before marriage – Makarchenko) was born in 1998. Nadezhda is a famous and titled athlete, a participant in the Olympic Games. According to open sources, she was an athlete and instructor for the Belarusian national canoe and kayak team. Nadezhda initially trained as a swimmer, but was later “lured” and introduced to canoeing (this can be found in her extensive interview with the Belarusian newspaper “Sport Panorama”). The canoeist even won the World Paddle Awards (WPA) in the Sports Junior category in 2017. In 2019, she won silver in the 500m canoe sprint at the 2nd European Games and bronze at the World Championships that same year. Nadezhda Makarchenko competed at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, finishing tenth in the canoe 2-man (also the 500-meter event).

Some media reported that after the birth of her daughter, she returned to rowing. How the successful athlete got involved with cars remains a mystery. We can only assume that she became interested in the auto business after marriage.

And now let’s turn to the personality of Nadezhda’s husband, Roman Taraskov. Open sources indicate that a man with the same first and last name competed in drag racing in a BMW M5 F90. And quite successfully, at that. He placed third in the AWD class at the 2024 Belarusian Championship. We even spotted a man who looks remarkably like Roman in a group photo of the winners.

And on the Instagram page of the Staiki Autodrome, among the winners and participants of the 402 Cup, we also found Nadezhda Taraskova (driving a Tesla Model S Plaid). We don’t know if this is the same woman who was formerly Makarchenko. Incidentally, we found Nadezhda’s Instagram account. The description briefly mentions the model of the car she likely drives—a BMW M5 F90. Again, we’re just assuming it’s the same car her husband won drag racing with.

Since fate led us to Instagram, we looked for Roman’s page there. This was easy thanks to the photo published by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, taken from the account of the supposed owner of Avalon Auto. The page has little personal information – mostly a lot of photos of BMWs.

So we decided to look for Roman on other social networks. In the VK profile picture, the man poses in front of a Mercedes. We take a closer look and see an ad for some Carshop on the license plates.
