Car repair costs in Russia vary widely, from several thousand to half a million rubles and more, depending on the brand, model and complexity of the work required. The Autonews.ru portal conducted a study in car repair shops to find out which types of breakdowns are the most expensive for Russian car owners.
Nikita Rodionov, technical director of the Fit Service network, noted that replacement or major repairs of the main units of the car are among the most expensive types of work. Problems with the engine, transmission, gearbox, generator or turbocharger, as a rule, require the largest financial investment.
According to the expert, repair of units is a labor-intensive process that requires qualified specialists and expensive spare parts. The cost of such work can start from 100 thousand rubles and reach several million, depending on the type of unit and car model. As an example, he cited a case where the restoration of the engine and cylinder head on a Nissan Patrol cost the owner one million rubles.
Body work is also among the most expensive. The rise in prices for materials and the shortage of personnel have led to a significant increase in the cost of such work. Even painting a bumper today can cost about 25 thousand rubles. Restoring a car after a serious accident with a violation of the body geometry can cost 400 thousand rubles or more, and a complete painting of a car on average costs about 300 thousand rubles.
Repairing the suspension can also require significant costs, especially if it is in a neglected state. Replacing many suspension elements can cost at least 100 thousand rubles.
The most expensive spare parts are the engine assembly, gearbox, cylinder block with heads, body elements and electronic control units. Rare or slow-moving parts, especially for premium or less common models, can also significantly increase repair costs.
