The BYD Atto 3 electric crossover, also known as the Yuan Plus, will receive a Blade battery (LFP) with a capacity of 74.88 kWh, which will provide a range of 650 km in CLTC mode. This was reported by CarNerwsChina with reference to the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the PRC. And this is a noticeable improvement in performance, because the current version of the model can offer 60.48 kWh and 510 km in CLTC mode.
The use of a higher-capacity battery is just in time, because earlier the same Ministry of Transport of China reported that the updated car will receive an electric motor with permanent magnets with a capacity of 308 hp versus 204 hp of the current version. Data on acceleration dynamics is not provided, but it is obvious that it should be better. And it is already known that the maximum speed will increase from 160 km/h to 180 km/h.
Unfortunately, the weight will also increase: the curb weight is now 1880 kg (versus 1625-1690 kg), and the gross weight is 2410 kg. However, the dimensions remain the same. Thus, the length of the crossover is 4455 mm, the wheelbase is 2720 mm. Well, the appearance of the model has not changed – except that the charging port has been moved from the right front fender to the right rear.
As for the equipment, the most important thing is that the car is equipped with an advanced BYD “God’s Eye” C driver assistance system, which contains 29 sensors, including five millimeter-wave radars, 12 high-definition cameras and 12 ultrasonic radars. Other options include a standard panoramic sunroof, as well as optional front and side radars, side and rear cameras. The price of the updated model has not yet been disclosed, so you will have to wait until pre-orders are announced in the Chinese market.
