Samsung Integrates Perplexity into the Galaxy S26

Samsung Electronics has officially announced a partnership with AI search engine Perplexity AI. The new service will be integrated into the Galaxy S26 line of smartphones, scheduled for launch on February 25, 2026.

Perplexity will become part of the Galaxy AI ecosystem, giving users the ability to interact with the AI using the “Hey Plex” voice command or assign the assistant to the side button of the device via the settings. This is expected to enable personalized responses, faster information searches, and recommendations based on the context of your phone use.

Perplexity’s algorithms will be integrated into Samsung’s default apps, including Notes , Clock , Gallery , Calendar , and Reminders , allowing users to receive prompts, automate tasks, and simplify everyday processes. Details on specific features and integration capabilities have not yet been disclosed, but the company promises that the service will be “intuitive and as useful as possible” for Galaxy S26 owners.

Interestingly, Samsung’s plans to collaborate with Perplexity were first announced back in the summer of 2025. The AI service was expected to be one of the assistants in the Galaxy S26 line and would work in conjunction with the voice assistant Bixby, expanding the capabilities of voice control and smart search.

Analysts note that the integration of Perplexity could be an important step for Samsung in developing its own AI ecosystem approach, competing with similar services from Apple and Google, which are actively introducing artificial intelligence into their devices and services.
