One of our readers witnessed an unusual incident with a scooter rider. It happened on Thursday evening on the capital’s Orlovskaya Street. Scooter falls do happen, of course. But this is not a typical story: the SPM user was already injured.
— He was riding in a cast and at a decent speed. He hit a small hole and started to be thrown in all directions, eventually he flew into a pole head-on and there was a bang. Apparently, a tire burst , — one of our forum users wrote in a comment to his video. The author of the video specified that the time and date on the recorder were set incorrectly, in reality everything happened on August 28 of this year at approximately 17:20.
— Then two more pedestrians helped him. I personally saw how a young guy was driving , leaning back. Easily and confidently. But at some point he hit a bump in the sidewalk. And he started tossing from side to side .
Such a moment is scientifically called “wobbling”. I have encountered it myself more than once. If it weren’t for the plaster, then, probably, he would have jumped off in time. Although it’s difficult to drive this type of vehicle, I’ve driven it myself and I know that with such a short base and small wheels, control is zero, – the author of the video told an Onlíner correspondent. According to him, the guy was speeding at a high speed, and he was riding without a helmet. He looked like he was 15-16 years old.
– It seemed like he started to straighten out, but he was driving too fast and hit a pole. The dash cam didn’t capture the moment itself, but I saw how it happened and how the impact occurred. The tire burst, and he hit his head.
