Nubia has revealed new details about its flagship smartphone NaviX Ultra, which is expected to be one of the brand’s most unusual mobile devices. The manufacturer is focusing on several areas at once: artificial intelligence, a large battery, an advanced camera, and a thin body.
Sales of the new product will start on the Chinese market September 16, 2026, and pre-orders are available now. Nubia positions NaviX Ultra not just as another flagship, but as a smartphone with deep AI integration at the operating system and everyday function level.
NaviX Ultra will receive a 7100 mAh battery
One of the most interesting features of the smartphone will be its battery with a capacity of 7100 mAh. For a modern flagship, this is a significant figure, especially considering the case thickness is only 7.62 mm .
Increasing battery capacity typically leads to an increase in the size and weight of a smartphone. Nubia is trying to solve this problem with a new-generation battery, which allows for a more capacious battery to be placed in a relatively thin case.
For the user, this means potentially longer battery life without having to upgrade to a larger and heavier device. This will be especially relevant for the NaviX Ultra, given its powerful processor, large display, high-resolution camera, and constantly running AI functions.
The power system is complemented by 100-watt wired charging . Wireless charging support is also announced, but its maximum power remains a parameter that the manufacturer must clarify.
A 200 MP camera – a focus on detail
The NaviX Ultra’s main camera will include a 200-megapixel sensor . It will be part of a flagship triple camera.
The number of megapixels alone no longer guarantees high-quality photos. However, sensors of this resolution give the manufacturer more options for software image processing, digital cropping, and pixel merging.
This is where artificial intelligence capabilities can be especially useful. Processing algorithms are capable of analyzing a scene, improving detail, adjusting exposure, and helping the camera achieve better results in challenging lighting conditions.
Therefore, for NaviX Ultra, a combination of a 200-megapixel camera and AI seems more logical than simply chasing the highest resolution.
“Doubao Phone 2.0”: What Does ByteDance Have to Do with It
Another important feature of the project is related to software. NaviX Ultra is being developed in collaboration with Nubia and ByteDance, and the smartphone will feature Doubao’s intelligent assistant integration. That’s why the new product is already being called the Doubao 2.0 phone. The main idea is for artificial intelligence to go beyond a separate app or chatbot. The assistant should become part of the user experience with the smartphone. This could potentially mean controlling device functions using natural commands, working with texts and images, automating individual actions, and enabling deeper AI interaction with installed services. Nubia is thus trying to compete not only with its hardware but also with its software. This is becoming an increasingly important area for the smartphone market: manufacturers are gradually moving from simple voice assistants to systems that can independently perform chains of actions.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and new memory
According to preliminary data, the hardware basis of NaviX Ultra will be the flagship processor Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 . This automatically places the smartphone in the upper segment of the market and explains the need for a serious cooling system.
The device uses a three-dimensional heat dissipation system with a total area of 7100 mm² . This is especially important for a slim case: a powerful processor can generate significant heat under sustained load.
A large cooling surface should help distribute heat more effectively and reduce the likelihood of a noticeable drop in performance during prolonged use—for example, while gaming, recording video, or running resource-intensive AI tasks.
Another interesting feature is the LPDDR5X RAM manufactured by the Chinese company Changxin Memory . The declared speed reaches 10,667 Mbps .
This is a noteworthy detail not only from the perspective of the smartphone’s specifications. Chinese electronics manufacturers are gradually increasing the use of domestic components, reducing their dependence on foreign suppliers. In this regard, NaviX Ultra may become a prime example of developing its own component base.
Why NaviX Ultra specifications look unusual
When you put the specifications together, it becomes clear what concept Nubia has chosen.
On the one hand, NaviX Ultra offers a typical set of a modern flagship: a powerful processor, a 200 MP camera, fast charging and high-speed memory.
On the other hand, the manufacturer is trying to combine all this with a huge battery for a thin case and deep AI integration.
It is the combination of these characteristics that may become the main advantage of the model. It is no longer enough for the user to simply get a faster processor. A flagship must provide long battery life, high-quality shooting, intelligent functions and stable performance under serious workloads.
At the same time, the main question remains – how much will NaviX Ultra cost. The price will determine whether the device can compete with other Chinese flagships or will remain a niche offering for buyers who are primarily interested in AI capabilities.
When will sales of NaviX Ultra begin
The official start of sales of the smartphone in China is scheduled for September 16, 2026. Pre-orders are already open.
While the manufacturer continues to reveal the characteristics of the device gradually, the final picture of the capabilities of the NaviX Ultra will become clear closer to the start of sales.
At the moment, the smartphone looks like Nubia’s attempt to bet on several market trends at once: artificial intelligence, autonomy, high-performance hardware and the development of the Chinese component base.
If the declared characteristics are confirmed in practice, the NaviX Ultra may be interesting not so much because of one record-breaking characteristic, but because of the combination of 7100 mAh, 7.62 mm case, 200 MP camera, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Doubao integration.
