From June 2026, the lives of drivers will change: fines will increase, control will become automatic, and the usual “excuses” will stop working.
1. Driving into oncoming traffic — up to 7,500 ₽ and license suspension
- Camera: 7,500 ₽, repeat offense — license suspension for up to a year.
- Inspector: license suspension for 4-6 months, repeat offense — up to a year.
- Previously, the fine for being recorded by a camera was lower (about 5,000 ₽). Now there are uniform rules throughout the country.
2. Failure to yield to a pedestrian – even if he has stopped

Now the driver is obliged to give way even to a frozen pedestrian.
3. Dirty license plates – no more excuses
- The driver is obliged to check the legibility before leaving.
- Fine: 500 ₽, warning only in exceptional cases.
- Weather conditions do not exempt from liability.
4. Non-standard headlights – a fine and mandatory correction
- Xenon instead of halogen, LED strips or any non-certified modifications.
- A fine of 500 rubles and mandatory correction of the violation.
- Upon re-inspection – deprivation of rights or a large fine.
5. Unpaid parking – a single federal fine
- Amount: 3,500 ₽.
- Payment time: 15 minutes from the moment of stopping.
- Applicable in any region of Russia.
6. Tinting – automated control
- The fine remains the same (500 ₽), but the devices record the violation automatically.
- The human factor is excluded – it will not be possible to negotiate with the inspector.
7. Using a phone while driving — any actions with your hands are prohibited.
- Talking, messaging, social media — fine 1,500 ₽.
- Using a hands-free device and a navigator in a holder is permitted.
- Even a brief glance at the screen at a traffic light is considered a violation.
💡 Advice for drivers: check your license plates, headlights, and habits in advance — so you don’t have to argue with inspectors and overpay later.
