On May 29, at around 11:35 pm, the driver of a Mercedes truck was driving along the Ivye – Trokeli – Radun highway. An accident occurred at the 58th kilometer of the road (Voronovsky District). “When exiting a curve, the driver drove onto the right shoulder in the direction of travel, as a result of which he lost control of the car, — the State Traffic Inspectorate reported. — The car ended up in the oncoming lane, where it collided head-on with an Audi.”
“The Audi driver, as well as a 27-year-old girl and two minors who were in the car, were taken to the hospital with injuries of varying severity. A one-year-old child born in 2024 died at the scene of the accident. The truck driver fled the scene of the accident, but was soon detained by police near the agricultural town of Pogorodno. At the time of his arrest, he was intoxicated,” the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate reported.
