In Minsk, a driver fell asleep at the wheel and caused an accident, the Minsk State Traffic Inspectorate reported.

The incident occurred around 1:00 PM on Independence Avenue, opposite the Central Department Store. According to inspectors, the 56-year-old BMW driver drove into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with a BYD. The preliminary cause is the driver falling asleep while driving.

Luckily, there were no casualties – only both cars were damaged. Traffic police officers are working at the scene.

The department reminded that driving a car when tired or ill is dangerous and prohibited. Drivers are advised to stop in a safe place immediately if they feel even slightly unwell.
