Car owners in Russia periodically face the problem of theft of parts from their parked vehicles. Data from insurance companies indicate that in 2025, the greatest interest for criminals is in components of cars from European and Chinese manufacturers.
European brands lead in the number of recorded incidents. Representatives of Absolut Insurance attribute this to difficulties in the supply of spare parts, while Soglasie provided a specific list of the most vulnerable cars. BMW ranks first on this list (14%), followed by LADA, Mercedes-Benz and Toyota, each accounting for 9%.
Soglasie noted that the maximum amount of damage caused by criminals since the beginning of the year reached 327 thousand rubles. This amount was used to purchase several exterior parts for the Lexus RX300 and subsequent repairs.
RESO-Garantiya claims that there is no clear trend in thefts by specific brands of cars. However, among the individual models most often subject to theft, the Skoda Octavia and Toyota Land Cruiser stand out. According to VSK, among their insured clients, the most frequent victims of car thieves are the owners of Kia, VAZ (LADA) and Haval.
At the same time, Chinese cars are also at risk. Criminals are mainly attracted to Haval and Exeed parts, such as side mirrors and spare wheels installed on the rear door. The largest number of such cases this year were recorded in Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod.
