A unique VAZ-2106, which has covered only 13 thousand kilometers since 1996, has been put up for sale in the Moscow region. As reported by Rossiyskaya Gazeta, the owner valued his “time capsule” at 1.5 million rubles – an amount for which today you can buy a new car like Lada Iskra in mid-range configuration.
According to the ad, the car was garaged for almost the entire period after purchase: “One owner, inherited, but did not register it in their name. Original mileage, parked on blocks for the last 20 years. “The car starts without problems and is ideal for connoisseurs,” the description notes.
Under the hood of the classic VAZ-2106 is a 4-cylinder, 1.5-liter carbureted engine producing 72 horsepower. It is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, and the rear-wheel drive maintains the authenticity of the Soviet car.
For the record: The VAZ-2106 is one of the most popular Soviet cars, produced from 1976 to 2006. February 2026 marked the 50th anniversary of the start of mass production of the model. At one time, the VAZ-2106 was considered one of the most prestigious Ladas thanks to its updated design, improved interior trim, and high reliability.
Today, examples like this one, with minimal mileage and fully preserved original equipment, are considered true collector cars. The price of 1.5 million rubles is explained by the model’s rarity, condition, and historical value. As a reminder, a low-mileage OKA was previously listed for sale in Moscow.
