The Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant plans to begin sales of the updated UAZ Patriot SUV before the third quarter of 2026. The company’s general director, Alexey Spirin, reported this to Autonews.
The localization of this gearbox is so deep today that Sollers even manufactures aluminum housings for it on its own. The industrial partner of the project was the RosALit foundry in Zavolzhye, where serial production of these components has been established.
The externally modernized UAZ Patriot can be recognized by its new headlights with a fully LED “filling” and LED taillights. Inside, it will have a redesigned front panel and a redesigned central tunnel, as well as a completely new, truncated at the bottom steering wheel of a smaller diameter – with thickening in the grip areas, modernized blocks of keys for controlling the on-board electronics and the airbag.
As a reminder, in November, the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant began using Russian devices with the ERA-GLONASS emergency services call function, manufactured by FSUE NAMI, in the production of cars. More than 20,000 of these units have already been delivered to the UAZ assembly line.
