UAZ will update its main SUV. The first photos of the car
The restyled UAZ “Patriot” will receive minor, targeted changes to the exterior, the main ones being headlights with all-LED “stuffing” and LED taillights. This is evidenced by photographs of the car published on Saturday by the Telegram channel “Autoflow”.
At the same time, he clarifies that on the captured copy of the modernized SUV the headlights and taillights are still “mock-up”, made using bypass technology. Serial production of the new parts is expected to begin in the coming weeks.
Another feature of the restyled SUV will be a completely new powertrain – a 2.0-liter turbodiesel HFC4DB2-1D1 from JAC with a capacity of 136 horsepower and a six-speed gearbox, also borrowed from JAC. Production of the latter was launched at the industrial site of the Zavolzhsky Motor Plant in the Nizhny Novgorod Region back in February of last year.
The engine is also produced in Russia, but the localization of the “six-speed” is so deep that Sollers even makes aluminum crankcases for it. The industrial partner of the project was the RosALit foundry in Zavolzhye, where serial production of these components has been established.
A number of targeted changes are also expected in the interior of the flagship UAZ. According to preliminary data, it will receive a modified front panel and a redesigned central tunnel, as well as a completely new, truncated at the bottom steering wheel of a smaller diameter – with thickening in the grip areas, modernized blocks of keys for controlling on-board electronics and an airbag.
The premiere of the modernized UAZ “Patriot” is scheduled for December 11 at a special event “Sollers Product Day” in Moscow.
By the way, In November, the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant began using Russian devices with the ERA-GLONASS emergency services call function, manufactured by FSUE NAMI, in the production of cars. More than 20 thousand of these units have already been delivered to the UAZ assembly line.
