In mid-December, the updated LADA Vesta 2026 model year went on sale, which received a new electronic architecture with a key card, keyless access and a remote engine start function. AvtoVAZ talked about the features of this technology in the Telegram channel “Let’s Get Along with LADA”.

As the company clarified, to unlock the car, it is enough to approach it at a distance of two or three steps. At this point, the locks will automatically unlock, and the turn signals will flash as a greeting. When the owner is removed, the car, on the contrary, locks without pressing a button. The design retains the familiar key with buttons, but has a new standard function added – remote engine start.

To activate the start, you must press the lock button, and then the start button. The system runs the engine for 10 minutes: this time, according to AvtoVAZ, is quite enough for warming up in winter or cooling down in hot weather.

The manufacturer also reminded about the built-in security algorithms. In particular, remote start will only work if a number of conditions are met: the gearbox must be in neutral, the parking brake must be applied, and the doors must be locked. In addition, after starting, you cannot immediately begin driving – you must first press the brake pedal and the “Start / Stop” button. Without this, the engine will automatically shut off.

This function only allows two consecutive remote starts. After that, protection is activated: a third start is possible only after driving at least 1 km. The company explained that this is necessary to preserve the battery and the peace of mind of others.

If the battery is disconnected, the car doors can be unlocked using the mechanical key, which is built into the main one. If you try to turn off the engine without the key, the system will remind you with a message. If the driver ignores the warning and presses the Stop button again, the engine will stop, but restarting will only be possible with the original key.

In conclusion, AvtoVAZ representatives emphasized that the updated LADA Vesta 2026 model year is equipped with a new key with keyless access and remote engine start in all trim levels. In addition, the cars of the family now have at least front electric windows with automatic mode by default.
