The updated Haval Jolion has been unveiled for Russia. How much does the most popular Chinese crossover now cost?
Haval has officially unveiled the updated Jolion crossover in Russia. The best-selling Chinese car in our market received a new gasoline engine for the all-wheel drive version and a more ergonomic interior, which now has a different steering wheel and a completely redesigned front panel.
With the model update, the names of the trim levels have changed, but their number has remained the same. Now the lowest trim level is called “Comfort”, it is offered only with a manual transmission and front-wheel drive. Next come “Optimum” and “Premium”, which suggest a seven-speed robotic gearbox, as well as front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The highest trim level “Techno+” is offered exclusively with all-wheel drive and a robotic gearbox.
New engine
Acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h has been reduced from 9.8 to 9.1 seconds thanks to the new turbo engine, and the maximum speed has increased to 190 km/h. The new engine complies with the Euro 6 emission standard, resulting in reduced fuel consumption in the combined cycle of 7.6 l/100 km.
The front-wheel drive Jolion, as before, is equipped with a 1.5-liter in-line turbocharged four-cylinder. Its main characteristics have not changed: the power is 143 hp. (105 kW), and the maximum torque reaches 210 Nm at 2000 – 4400 rpm.
The updated crossover is offered with two types of transmissions: a seven-speed robotic gearbox 7DCT with a wet dual clutch or a six-speed manual. Their design uses technologies that reduce torque losses when shifting gears to 2%, and the maximum torque that can be transmitted by a robotic gearbox is 300 Nm.
Changes in the interior
While the exterior design of the car has not undergone any changes, the interior has been comprehensively redesigned, due to which the level of comfort has increased and ergonomics have been improved.
Other updates: the presence of additional multi-format charging ports. In addition to the previous USB (Universal Serial Bus) Type A ports, a more modern, compact USB Type C port has been added – one in the front of the cabin and two in the rear.
The updated Haval Jolion will be available in five body colors: “Celestial Topaz”, “Magmatic Red”, “Noble Agate”, “Galactic Black” and “Smoky Pearl”. There are two interior options: black and black and red. The seat upholstery is available in either black fabric (for the Comfort and Optimum trim levels) or perforated eco-leather (for the Premium and Techno+ trim levels).Multimedia
