The second model of the revived Volga brand, the C50 sedan, has been certified in Russia. The vehicle has been issued a Vehicle Type Approval (VTA), which allows it to begin mass production and official sales in our country.

The manufacturer in the document is listed as Nizhny Novgorod Passenger Cars. In terms of schematic images and dimensions, the car is completely identical to the Geely Preface business sedan already presented on the Russian market – its length, width and height are 4825, 1880 and 1469 millimeters, respectively, and the wheelbase is 2800 millimeters.

It became known back in September that the Geely Preface sedan under the Volga brand could hit the Nizhny Novgorod conveyor, but there has been no official confirmation so far. Moreover, the company that owns the Volga brand denied this information, emphasizing that it “is not negotiating with Geely on the release of this company’s models in Russia.”

Earlier, the Volga K50 crossover, which is externally and technically similar to the Geely Monjaro, popular among Russians, was certified in Russia. It is planned to produce it with the same 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with a capacity of 238 hp. s., eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive.
