Russia to Start Production of New Cheapest Hybrid Car
Production of the new cheapest hybrid car to begin in Russia
The Evolute brand will introduce the new most affordable hybrid car in Russia
The Evolute brand plans to introduce a new hybrid model of the C-class in Russia, which will cost less than the seven-seat i-Space crossover. Andrey Reznikov, managing partner of the Motorinvest plant, which produces Evolute cars, told Izvestia about this.

“We will introduce a hybrid model in the C-class — cheaper than the i-Space. It only appeared on the Chinese market this year. It will be a super-modern product. Unfortunately, previously the Russian market of localized electric vehicles could not boast of modern models due to, let’s say, historical issues,” said Andrey Reznikov.
The top manager also added that in 2026, the plant near Lipetsk may not have any models built on platforms that are outdated by Chinese standards and are already more than a year old. According to him, this will also affect plans for localizing components.
“This imposes some restrictions: we cannot localize components earlier, since we understand that the existing line is slightly behind international standards. And what we are launching is only just being born. Accordingly, we will localize universal components as quickly as possible,” noted Andrey Reznikov.

Recall that in 2024, the seven-seat Evolute i-Space crossover became the most affordable hybrid model on the Russian market. It is sold in two trim levels: Comfort and Premium, the recommended retail prices for which are 2,499,000 and 2,940,000 rubles, respectively.
By the way, the Evolute i-Space was updated the day before. The restyled version of the seven-seat “hybrid” debuted at the Innoprom international industrial exhibition in Yekaterinburg. In addition to changes in the exterior and interior, the car for the first time received a five-seater layout and an improved power plant, the electric motor of which now develops 218 horsepower, and the electric range due to the new battery has increased by more than 35%. Full-cycle production of the car at the Motorinvest plant will begin in the third quarter of 2025.
