In Russia, they will begin producing a new domestic car, which will not be expensive
The Kaliningrad holding “Avtotor” shared with the portal “AvtoVzglyad” ambitious plans for 2026. Among them are the visual restyling of the electric sedan “AmberAuto A5” and the start of production of a new compact hatchback, which will be a re-badged version of the Chinese model JMEV EV3.

The standard equipment of the model includes a panoramic roof, an infotainment system with a 10.1-inch touchscreen display, built-in navigation and Internet access, rear parking sensors, ISOFIX mounts for child seats, an automatic child lock and all the necessary safety systems.
“The first rumors about the upcoming “Russification” of this “electric train” appeared back in 2024, but car dealers will be able to bring the car to the market only in 8-9 months, not earlier,” the source notes, adding that prices for it should be “reasonable.”
They also wanted to set up the assembly of a seven-seater crossover at Avtotor, but all information about it is still classified – even the model that will form its basis is unknown. It is possible that one of the cars from the Chinese electric vehicle brand JMEV will also be used as a “donor”.
